Howdy,

I find it quite difficult to write someone I've never met. Add to that this profile page. I'm supposed to write about myself. Not easy, given the place I'm writing from. I guess I should start by introducing myself.

My name is William McKenzie but, please, call me Billy. I'm 6', 211 lbs. I have brown hair, hazel eyes.

You may have doubts about writing me given my current situation, which is understandable. I'm only asking you to allow me the opportunity to make a first impression. I have always—well, since I found out personal writing can be—I can pour my heart on this paper with no distractions, no worrying about the awkwardness of thinking of you judging me, without even to getting to know me first.

If you wish to find our who I am, what I believe in, and what drives me when I meet someone—I just want to be able to have a conversation with someone. Being able to be vulnerable and to feel someone else's vulnerability. More so than that, to find the fun and the laughter! If you can laugh with a person, everything is alright in my back. I love to write poetry. This is one of the many new things I found out about myself while being incarcerated.

I will answer all letters or feedback you might about about one of my blog posts. Please remember, if I put out for the world to see, I don't take it lightly. I will not tolerate any bigotry. I live around hate daily, and it's hard for me not to be who I used to be and hate back. I will respect what you have to say, just don't base it on hate.

My address is below. I truly look forward to meeting you. Peace!

Non sum qualis eram,
Billy
