This is perfect. It makes sense.
Know why?
Because if an entire nation can allow legislation to pass that parents/guardians must keep their adult kids on insurance til they're 26, and they are considered "traditional students" in the student loan department til they're 25, why don't we apply that "unformed brain" logic to crime? Does the magic "unformed brain" somehow "firm up" ? Do they suddenly become cogent members of adult society when tempted/driven by crime? Their bodies and minds are "not adult" in every faction of American life til it comes to this subject.
Know why?

$$$$$$$$$$$$. Simple.

There's no $$$$$ in it. Because it doesn't involve the collection of $, but rather the loss of $$$$. If the state forgives "murder" (aherm cough involuntary manslaughter in most cases) because the perp is under 24, how are all the MDOC guards gonna get their Christmas hams & employee picnics?

I'm a believer. I believe this country is going to undergo some serious changes in the next 4-8 years, & this ^ is gonna be one of them. Or something like it.
My son didn't deliberately shake his infant son. His 23 yo old brains development was ARRESTED when he started smoking pot at age 18.
He never "grew up" between the pot smoking & his highly malignant lay sbusive 20 yo gf that tortured him emotionally for 5 years before his crime.
If he was a criminal or had a criminal mind, I'd have noticed sooner & I would be breathing a sigh of relief.

I mean Christ... My son was a security guard for 3 years prior to his crime...
I'm pretty sure he's never gonna do it again
