Memories

Memories

A beauty on my mind like days of the past
gives rise to a hope still veiled by a mask
tides of the free help cope for the lines
of the rope wrapped tight around the dream in my mind
“What time in my life is this that is here?"
“Shall I remember with smile or remember with tear?"
This moment, all mine since surrendered by fear
this taste of a kiss last time he was hear
still sits on my lips reflected in glass
waiting for echoes and a whisper that lasts
and my heart now feels light yet still remains tethered
as a mountain of lies is eroded by weather
and given the question I would now answer “whether"
since a smile and your face still go well together
so smile and be safe as these moments go by
and just to make sure bid beauty goodbye
