... Well, I guess introductions would be the first order of business, my name is David and I have been incarcerated since 1988. I am originally from the Pacific Island of Guam. Where I was born in the spring of 1960. However, in spite of my age. Prison has preserved my body and has surely kept my mind sharp!
Through the generosity amd foresight of the folks and the Organization they represent, I have been given and very rare opportunity to have not only a forum to convey my experiences within prison, but I can also reach a much for vast audience to relate to the population of the "Blogosphere" the conditions and macinations of California's Human Warehouses!
But let me say that not all of my time has been down and out. There have been times of levity and brevity within these gray walls and electric fences.
I have to apologize for my atrocious handwriting! I have no typewriter, so this is the best as its going to get! Shoot, when I got locked up. The personal computer as it is today consisted of radio shack's tnady 1000! I hadn't heard of Microsoft or Apple yet! Crazy huh!?!
I am still contemplating on how I will begin conveying my experiences but they will be both interesting, eye opening and informative!
I am still amazed I have been afforded this opportunity. Although things were explained to me. I am still unsure of what is exactly going to occur when this introduction is put up on the internet. I am pretty "ignorant" of this whole process. Who will read this? How far will this "Blog" reach? How am I to guage reactions to what I write? How will I know what you all want to hear? Questions , Questions, Questions.
I do know this, I cannot use real names when I convey my experiences. The only real name used (if needed) will be mine. How will you all know if what I write about is real? Well I can't really say that you must trust me because number one you don't know me and number two, I am a criminal and that in and of itself denotes untrustworthiness!!!
All I can say is everything I write in this blog is real for I have no reason to lie, nor can i gain anything for telling lies. So, take everything with a grain of salt and believe what you will. I will begin with my next "posting" my journey through county jail... 24 years ago!!! see ya!
P.S. Oh can I do this? I like to draw so I will be including drawings once in a while with my "postins"! Any questions. Requests or specific drawings can be sent to me via my address on my profile page... Now for real... See Ya!

I remember 1988 very well myself, but for different reasons to you. For me it was the year I finished school, started a short college course, left home and started working. And yes, computers weren't common in the office environment I worked in then :)
To offer a reply to one of your first questions, how far will this blog reach... Well I'm reading it from Australia - is that far enough to begin with? As for what readers want to hear... your experiences, thoughts & feelings are the things that I find most interesting to read when I come to this site. But what ever you want to share is a good place to begin. People will comment when something you say relates to them specifically.
I'm not sure I agree with you that your readers will assume untrustworthiness simply because of the environment in which you reside. This seems to be a safe place to be open and honest, and I've never read anything that I think to be untrue, possibly at times I think I've read words coming from a perspective different from my own, but from what I've seen, everyone is respected here.
Although your readers don't know you, we have no reason to believe you'll be anything other than truthful. I think you will find your audience trusting of the genuine reason you have come to BtB & finally... your drawings will be very welcomed.
I'm interested to hear more of your experiences. Write again soon!
