LisaHeard thank you for taking the time to transcribe my post(s).
May the truth be external in all your lives.
My cell during a random (harassment) search. Three hours later I was escorted off the unit, and only when i arrived outside was I then placed in handcuffs. Now for the 45 days I am confined to a 6x8 cell with limited property, and when I am allowed out for my three weekly showers I am shackled and tethered. The situation itself causes me no harm, I am far too advanced for nonsense such as this to penetrate and disturb my inner peace. if anything the absurdity of the situation brings me humor and the solace or herdship further strengthens me. I understand I broke a rule, but a rule- designed for what, and as for my punishment what is the sense of it? the men in here who are accused of more drastic violations are even given an opportunity to defend themselves or explain their side-once a "ticket" is written you are already guilty.
Perhaps my explanation does not do the circumstance its proper justice. My argument is that where you compound a man into an existence in which rational thought is not applied to the boundaries of said existence, the man will inevitabley seek passage around and through those boundaries. A man will not respect a system of laws or justice that he does not understand- the slope is slippery. Only when the rule of law is established along lines of reason and fall inside those natural laws within us all can we ever hope to remove the label and the role of criminal from our beloved brothers and sisters.
In response to their treatment, men scream and bang against the doors of their cells, they fling shot and filth but only when they have exhausted remedies that take place within their own minds. In prison your tattoos are your armor- that which they can not strip off your body or take from you. Many men sport the initials "FTW", or Fuck the World, as their patience passes ints limits. One I saw, that I found more fitting, describes the resistance some of us feel perfection. Despite the unjustness, the petty harassment, the discouragement, the negative outlooks and attitudes of those cycle of pain and misery, my comrade had written across his neck- "I'm Still Here"
With Hope and Love
