[A photo of Paul Garcia covers much of the upper portion of text. He is wearing a light blue button-up and a necklace of some sort while standing in front of a mural of the moon and some cirrus clouds over some waves. The photo is portrait in orientation, but rotated 90 degrees clockwise.]

In these wired times of ours, one might assume the sending of snail mail, communicating with someone housed behind prison walls and having a pen pal, via letter writing has gone the way of cassette tapes. One may say a tilde-wave has swept thru cyberspace and has washed us out to sea. Don't be fooled--we have a voice and may my Blog let it be heard. I may not have the X-Factor, nor am I the next Iron Chef. I'm not from 90210, nor do I belong to a Modern Family. I could be a Person of Interest, but I'll never be on America's Most Wanted. I have One Life To Live and would love to meet you In The Middle. My life has some Glee, most of all I'm a Survivor.
I want to hear your feedback concerning my Blog Posts and I like to hear your story and discuss any subject with you. There is negative stereotypes of prisons and prisoners that are not accurate--Yes, there are Sharks in my waters, however many are Gold Fish. In the past decade the U.S. Prison Population has exploded--you may know someone or have a loved one behind bars now. I know there are cyber-surfers who will accept me and my circumstances as they are, can grow with me as we swim together in our own individual life situations. I am afforded opportunities to grow and reflect--to better myself and be a productive member of this fish bowl.
My past doesn't define me, I'm not my past. I'm a 1st Timer and been incarcerated since May 1993--when at the age of 18 and 3 weeks to High-school graduation I made some poor life choice decisions. My unhappiness didn't arise from my life situation, but from a misconception of what my life was supposed to be. My actions resulted in the death of an adult loved one. I keep a positive attitude and my behavioral record is above-average. I've earned my High-school Diploma, taken creative writing classes & typing, as well as working prison jobs of importance--such as Program Office Disciplinary Clerk, Law Library Clerk and in Prison Industries making tables and chairs. I've dedicated myself to improving my mental and emotional state, as well as my life situation thru Self Help Study. The teachings of Tolle and Dyer inspire me to be better than I was yesterday.
To all those individuals who I'm unable to reach out directly and still grieve over what's been lost, I'm truly sorry for my actions in May 1993--especially to the Fisher Family..
I am Single and have no children. I still have hopes of one day having a doting wife and children. I'm of Portuguese and Castillian Spanish ancestry. I grew up in San Jose and Sacramento, California. I attended Highlands Highschool from 1989 to May 1993. I have two older sisters--my mom and dad are divorced, but remain Best Friends. I was born 7-7-74. I enjoy listening to talk radio personalities like Hannity, Barks, Norry, and Savage.
