From Death Row Inmate by Michael Flinner (author's profile)

Fellow Activists,

Born in the flames of adversity, many collaborations have been formed with volunteer workstations and venues whose common goal is to build formidable alliances -- or so some say.

No one can better understand captivity than the captive himself, men and women around the globe caught in existential conflict with prison administrations everywhere. These 21st Century repressive institutions bring about toxic darkness for so many, lest we forget about the prisoner's friends and loved ones.

These breeding grounds for suffering and injustce are some of the most horrid environments society could imagine. Because of the caged will and intellect of some of our peers as well as the hearts and minds of compatriots in the free world, it should come as no surprise that education is paramount in reconnecting with humanity and our moral senses of conviction -- things that are principally reminded in the triumph of the human spirit.

We need lifetimes of leadership and advocacy toward global peace, stages from which to speak, shared resources to and from every possible like-minded organization in lieu of just those who fit the "proverbial mold". This age of technology means that we should be as close to the forefront of our individual issues, atop our respective search result pages, and exploring every conceivable option as it relates to interactivity with others. These are the requisite components of our continued success. Each of us has a responsibility to promote service and productive activities for prisoners, families, and activists alike. Get yourselves involved, even if it means only sharing one or two grassroots or communal resource centers with the people you frequently chat, blog, or email. Interactivity amongst all of these venues is so important for us to advance our causes -- this is the degree of support that we know all of us need. Your voice matters, so get it heard today by showing your support in as many ways as you can. No man is an island. It's about time!
