Buhogrunon: You know, you're just being silly now... I know you have way more sense than you're pretending to have here. The Greek philosophers were not too unlike the Hindus of today in their religious beliefs... which was one of Evola's main points. All the similarities are irrelevant for this discussion, but what is relevant is that many of them, Plato included, believed in reincarnation... the same spirit that is in you may well be in a goat in the next life, or a previous one for that matter. They all contained a flicker of the Deity to animate them.

With that belief in mind, what would it have mattered to them if the sacrifice had been a Bull or goat? It wouldn't.

I really didn't know that Evola was so extremely anti-semitic, did he ever actually say anything that could be so construed? Or more likely, has the 21st century liberal establishment just labeled him as an anti-semite because they disagree with his views and want to scare the mass majority of students from considering his works? I know, I know... anyone who doesn't support the party line is a Racist, or an anti-semite... and the rest of us are expected to grovel and backpedal, and apologize for holding any views that they don't like. I'll read what I like, thank you very much. Don't really give a damn what society thinks about it either. I'm a man, and I'll believe what I want, and freely admit it.

On the other hand, Evola had a higher esteem for the Hebrews than he did for the Christians. He described them as a warrior people. He was real anti-Christian so I more disagreed with his conclusions than agreed with them. I just like reading alternative points of view. But yeah, I can see how you would think he was a racist as he more connected with his European roots and religions and liked to highlight their high points over Jewish/Egyptian and other Middle Eastern religions.

Besides, how far are we gonna take this Anti-semitic argument... so any time anyone claims their religion is better than Judaism now we just all are to agree that they are anti-semitic? Don't the followers of Judaism do the same? In the Babylonian Talmud, don't the Jews claim that Jesus was the son of a Roman soldier and a Jewish prostitute? Or that a Jewish magician resurrected Jesus and boiled him alive in hot semen and feces? I could write down some very anti-Christian remarks from out of their Holy book, the Talmud. Why don't we call them anti-Christian? Or the Koran speaks at length about how the Jews lost the covenant with God for being deceitful and wicked... and also about the Christians being heretics for adding to God and forgetting most of what Jesus taught us... so since the Muslims claim they are superior and follow God more closely, are we to label them with the dreaded label of anti-semitism? Ha!

Guess we better not! At least not the Arabic Muslims... since they are Semites themselves! And trace their descent from Ishmael (Isaac's brother).

Come on Grunon, don't you get tired of demonizing any oppositional viewpoint instead of meeting them on the merits of what they have to say?

Evola -- racist nonsense. Have you even read anything by him, or just a one sentence critique from your Labor party?

Seriously, tell me this: I know y'all criticize the Christian censors of the Holy Roman Empire for banning certain books and studies... but what is so different about your racist and anti-semite labels nowadays that you use to mock and ostracize anyone from doing so nowadays? Same principle, different tactics. But if you back it up... the censors never even started with the Roman Empire... Holy or Pre-Christian... The Censors started way back when Rome was a Republic... maybe even before that when it was a kingdom. Is the Roman historian Livy a good non-biased source enough for ya?

Are you Jewish? Just wondering.

Anyways. Nice chatting with you. You're alright with me... even if you do pretend to be a little dingy at times. (I know you're just pretending!) Let me get this out so I can get on this work out before chow comes around. Take care of yourself.

Chris
