Captured Embers
An empty room
won't validate anything
like the ability
to capture embers
in the wild.
all the while
we are displaying
our embarrassing flaws
in moon shadows
confined in dreams
in the afterglow
of our fire
sears have appeared
many years after
the open wounds.
all but disappeared
from our minds
with captured embers
a new fire
starts within us.
