Hi Evy:
I know all about vendors and prison rules. I buy my glasses from Airgas. They cost more than Choice Eyewear but are good-looking safety glasses so they don't break. I have one pair that I bought in 2005 and am still using - they are just reading glasses. My other pair - bifocals - I replaced in 2015 after 10 years (I needed stronger glasses so I could learn to draw).
I personally would not buy Choice Eyewear glasses because they are too cheaply made and break too easily. But when cost matters and you don't want to wear the free state-issued prescription glasses, then Choice Eyewear is the best option.
Good luck in your efforts to educate the population. I suspect most people will simply say don't use the internet if you have that sort of problem. It is hard for someone who is not suffering from any sort of addiction to identify with someone who is.
