Lemania/Lori,

Hi! Just figuring out how the direct responses work and realised I had not heard from you since your last posting 12/2011. Another holiday season is upon us and I hope you've been on friendly terms with your x-hubby. Did he ever comes to grips with his own PTSD issues? Have him write me and we can talk. It's not like I have to hide my personal struggles now so we can struggle together.

Recently, I submitted a petition to the "FEDERAL" level courts. I had to do this before my deadline to keep my court battle going. The "state" level courts take 60-90 days usually just to respond. Then the response might be a technicality like placing the signature at the wrong place. So, I'm thinking I'll hear back in January and still have time to make corrections if needed. But, the feds are on it, the way it should be, and turn it around in ONE DAY.

The judge accepted my petition (hurdle #2 passed) and ordered a response from the Illinois Attorney General. The down side of this is I am on my own (pro se) to argue against a staff of professional lawyers and clerks with all the time, knowledge, computer, phone and legal support needed. Me... I might get 1-2 hours a week. No computers, or staffing and very limited access to other states' cases, and zero access to Supreme Court cases from July of 2011 to present since they're not published in books yet.

Feeling a little outgunned...

By February or March I should have a better idea if the federal courts view the PTSD issue differently than the state of Illinois.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Merry Christmas!

Happy New Year!

Talk to you in 2013...

David
