Ode to Institutionalization

'Cause you'll win no matter what I do
This situation

Stuck on stupid a decade
Heart thumping like shoes in dryer

Palm and penis scuffed
Like floorboard

Gums and teeth bleeding
Wrists chapped

Overwashed, underloved
Oppressive machinations

'Cause I get out in four days
And I'm fucking scared

Didn't think I'd make it
Deserved it

Just wanting to see her
Hold her naked

Revolution can wait until I've bled
Pain between blankets

"Why you crying, baby"
"Your skin, beautiful, I dreamed it"

'Cause kicked in the gut
Three hundred and sixty five times nine

Crawling on cold cement naked
Relishing its touch

Grueling days, broken teeth nights
Jaws clenching, eyes clouding

Water exists inside me
Touch of coldness or heat

My only feeling these
One oxygen, two hydrogen

'Cause you sick, twisted motherfucker
You broke me

Me and my daddy
But the pieces

We snap together as armor
Pointed up. Double jointed

Hearts twice the size
Quadruple my joy laughing

Triplicate empathy sharing cries
I died but am reborn

'Cause I forgive you
And honestly love you

Without you I'd never have seen
The usefulness of pain
