Dear Julia,
Hi! Sorry it's taken so long to respond. Thanks so much for your reply!
I got your comments while I was in the Hole (segregation) and it really brightened my day. That was so funny! I can imagine how funny it would be to read about a tropical storm named after you.
May I ask you two questions? Oops, that was a question. So I guess it'll be three.
What country are you in?
And how did you come across this website?
It amazes me that there are people in Europe reading this and I wonder how that came about.
I've become friends/pen-pals with one reader from Belgium, Rita. She's really great and I'm so glad we've gotten to know each other.
I hope you have a great holiday!
Love and blessings,
Kelly

Dear Readers,
Happy Holidays!
It has been a hectic couple of months, but things are finally beginning to settle down.
First of all, I went to the Hole (segregation) for over 2 weeks last Oct.-Nov. I went there for "investigation" and nothing came out of it. I was released without an "incident report."
One of the bad things about this whole incident is that it occurred during Halloween/Samhain. Since I am officially Wiccan (but eclectic), this is the time we have our yearly ritual meal and the big Samhain ceremony. I was brought a tray for our meal while in the Hold (missing dessert, damn it), but I missed out on the whole ceremony. That really sucked. So, I'll have to wait until next year.
My cellie in the Hole was awful, although I've had worse. He was loud and obnoxious and would snore really loud. It made it very difficult to sleep.
After I got out, I was lucky in getting my cell and bunk back, but my great mattress and pillow were gone. They don't give out pillows here. This is the only place I've been told that doesn't.
So the first couple of weeks were spent trying to get back all of the stuff I had lost, and it wasn't free. Going to the Hole is such a pain for all the stuff that's missing and needs to be replaced. Fortunately, this isn't as bad as FCI-El Reno where they threw away half your property.
The following weeks have been spent working my butt off. For one thing, I've had a lot of crochet jobs to do. Unfortunately, I'm out of a lot of colors of yarn, so it's been tough. I've also had a lot of typing jobs. I've spent a great deal of time in the library typing my little fingers off for various people. The good part about all this work is that it has kept me afloat financially and helped to pay for all the stuff I've lost. For that, I am grateful. I am now caught up on everything and it's nice to have a break.
On the other hand, I never know when I'll get any more jobs and I could use the money.
There've been some new guys who've come to the compound that I've been hanging out with. For the most part, they're pretty cool, but one is a total train wreck. He's constantly going in debt and looking for ways to get "high" on drugs. He's a mess and I don't see him lasting long on this compound. I hope he gets it together.
Until next time.
Love and blessings,
Kelly
