Your interest in the plight of elderly prisoners is most appreciated, since we are a marginalized class.
Federal Judge Posner Cited in: US vs Jackson, 835 F. 2d 1195:
"A civilized society locks up such people until age makes them harmless but it does not keep them in prison until they die."
Yet, it is a fate most of us face. Beyond the statistics you read, I offer the empirical realty:

At 78 years old, wheelchair bound due to orthopedic degeneration, cardiovascular disease, multiple heart attacks and well in old age entropy's grip,
I am housed in one of many prison HIGH-RISK MEDICAL UNITS with 24/7 RN observation.

In this unit, I have 49 other equally debilitated elderly peers in wheelchairs or walkers.
Each of us are harmless with our last drop of testosterone long gone, old and prison time broken, the only threat to society we might pose is to cheat in checkers.

Yet, even though psychologists evaluate us "low-risk to violence," we all share repeated denial of Elderly Parole as Threats to Society.
My recent denial was for 3 years because they say "You're arrogant."

Stanly Wyly, 79 years old, wheelchair bound, in progressive loss of vision, advanced dementia, cardiovascular disease and crippled with osteoarthritis, was found a threat to society, because he was verbally cross to a nurse and didn't do any studies: denied 3 years.

Augustine Rivera, 77 years old, crippled with arthritis, totally dependent on a walker, cardiovascular disease, early dementia and hearing impaired, was denied 5 years because he didn't do any studies.

These examples are representative of all 70, 80, & 90 year old prisoners forced to wait only for Death's Liberty.

As we wait in this unit, we watch our peers die off, or lose their minds where they are moved to be punished in unites for Alzheimer's disease and senile dementia prisoners.

This is all done by a 21st century "civilized society."

We ask,

STOP THE SENICIDE!
