"Write ir Die": Zine Project
This summer (2011) beginning in July, The Papyrus Collective will begin working on our first of (what we intend to be) a periodic series of zines enttled,
(Write or die".
While not a popular mainstream medium, you'll find zines to be a uniquely unconventional form of literary expression, generally fun to read, and asthetically
appealing to see. For those of you unfamiliar with zines, I can best describe these self-manufactured mini books. pamphlets, comics, magaZINES, as a broad yet eclectic medium available to every misfit, rabble rouser, vegan, activist, conscious prisoner and revolutionary of every social demographic --- a kindof community with its very own popularity and culture.
With little concern for publishing, technology, money, experience, and the limitation otherwise, with as little as a pn, an old manual typewriter, paper, and a phtocopier (nothingsophisticated or cmmercial0 it's an immediate and inexpensive operation for the most part. It'a what defines "guerilla Publishing". There are zines written by people from every walk of life, written about any/everything you can imagine, stemming from different places and crcumstances. Those of us involved in this project, recognise "write or die" as an opportunit to represent The Papyrus collective as well as th circumstances, consciousness, and humanity of other like-minded men andwomen on death rows around the globe.
"Write or Die" will be available atno cost upon written or email request or from links found in our forum at DRI.
This series will feature several contributing writers and artists, will exhibit a creative mixture or art, poetry, biographical profiles, and have a wide range of various articles. Both Papyrus Collective and DeathRowInmate.org have requested the collaboration and support of Mr Anthony Rayson of The South Chicago ABC Zine dostro to print, catalogue, table, and distribute our "write or doe" series.
Any questions you have regarding information or participation/support for these efects.please drop me a line or an email.
Thank you
