RE: NY Scandal Involving Police (post)
I was watching the news yesterday when it was announced that hundreds of former police officers, fire fighters, and other county and public employees were arrested for fraud after filing disability claims from the September 11 fall out.
It does not surprise me at all. It may surprise some of the folks out there. But I've known and so has most common folk that the police lie, cheat, and commit crimes just like anyone else. They just rarely get caught. And that's because they investigate themselves.
The only reason this came out is because it was obvious when some of them were caught on video.
But it's been a long time since 911, so they felt that they were in the clear. No one was watching them.
Besides who's going to think former police and fire fighters would be scamming the city?
This is not the first time police have been arrested. This is common all over the U.S. and other countries.
But these same individuals are the ones who have put others in prison for long sentences.
How can we believe that they were telling the truth? That the convictions are legitimate?
The district attorney in my case was arrested for burglary and receiving stolen property one day and sending people to prison the next.
And it doesn't stop there. We have the same type of individuals working in these prisons.
