Laying Foundations Today For A Brighter Tomorrow

ABOUT FFL

PURPOSE: Foundations For Living, Inc., firmly anchored on the foundation of Christ and bringing people and resources together, exists to walk alongside individuals and families in the midst of transitional times of life by supporting them, advocating for them, strengthening their core foundations, and equipping them to move from where they are to where they want to be.

OUR ULTIMATE GOALS: 1) That all people and agencies associated with Foundations For Living, Inc. (hereby known as FFL) will be secure in the knowledge that FFL can and will provide safe, up-to-date , and beneficial transitional living housing. 2) That individuals and families in transition will be provided opportunities to gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence in their ability to live independent, safe, and productive lives. 3) That all who enter our doors will be treated with love, respect, and honor without judgement or shame and will be given the opportunity to hear and learn of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
"FFL has been a to me. I don't know where I would be without their support through letters and phone calls and visits... Today I am even more encouraged with the direction FFL is headed... I will encourage others to support FFL and its movement... because of them I have become a more productive citizen." Keenan (client since 12/2011)

"Foundations For Living has not only provided me with housing but also has given me the opportunity to learn new skills, find new interests, and grow as an individual." Kristin (client since 8/2012)

WHAT OUR DONORS SAY
"Your program... requires responsibility, teaches ownership, requires a work ethic, and sets down a set of rules for everyone to follow... It is so refreshing to see that there are the types of fantastic people like you, who are willing to dedicate their life, time and resources to help them (those that have had some bad experiences or used poor judgement) out in their journey in life. Thank you so much for what you are doing"

There is some good news when it comes to responding to crime. Known as Restorative Justice, rather than punitive justice (or getting stupid and ineffective on crime), in the Eastern Wisconsin town of Waupaca, Foundations For Living (F.F.l.) is not only offering classes that teach how criminals thinking patterns can develop, how to develop healthier thinking patterns, working in conjunction with county officials to help those released from jail to get back on their feet.

This is a Christ-inspired operation. Of course I am not a Christian, nor do I need to be in order to be a considerate, decent person towards those decent and considerate towards me. I'd like to see some Humanist-inspired operations sprout up and do the same type of things FFL is doing without religious baggage; not only would that ensure Atheists and Agnostics are given the opportunity to benefit from Restorative Justice programs without being subconsciously deemed flawed by staff for their beliefs, but it would eliminate the desire to feign conversion in order to reward staff at FFL for their generous help.

I know the executive director at FFL and know of her steadfast efforts to help a young convict [like] I was in WI'S prison system. [I] wish her the best and success and thank her for her selfless help.

Hope this information is of use to some of you readers.

Sincerely,
Nate
