Re: Bus Ticket Out of SHU (Post)
Greetings.
This past Tuesday the counselor came to my cell and gave me my chrono and the CSR-classification decision (bus ticket as we call it) approving my transfer to Salinas Valley State Prison.
So now I'm just waiting for them to put me on the bus and ship me out. I'm ready to go.
I told you about a civil rights lawsuit that I have pending. It's been in process for years now, since 2010.
But it's been stalled for years. One damn thing after another, the state has tried to interfere with it. Then all of a sudden the main prison guard dies. I still don't believe it. But that's what they are saying.
Okay, so recently the district court dismissed that guard from the lawsuit. And now I am going to file a motion for reconsideration and try to convince the court to reconsider its decision.
For now I'm just writing a rough draft because I don't know if I have time to file it from here.
Yesterday I went to the medical clinic to get my eyes checked and to see the nurses for the last time. They have always made my days back here much better.
So I'm all ready to go. My nephew just sent me a package so I got some food for when I get to the new prison. No telling what kind of conditions I may run into. So it's good to have something in my luggage.
I wanted to mention the new television stations that we now have in Pelican Bay State Prison. We were given 35 stations earlier in the week. First of all is the KTVU Station out of the Bay Area. Finally we can see the news from Northern California. I saw San Jose. It looks bigger than I remember. I saw a lot of stuff I don't remember.
We also get CW Station and all of the PBS stations. Another station called WG. And ION and M Station and the Weather Station. And FNC a Native American station.
So the guys in the SHU are happy because they have a variety of stations to look at.
The folks could have done this long time ago, they just didn't want to give us nothing but the basics.
When I was coming back from medical one guard told me they put in the phones in each unit. So when I walked into the block I looked over to where the holding cells is and, sure enough, there's a phone on the wall. It loos like one of the old phone booth type phones. I tried to get a call so I could call my nephew, but they still haven't connected the yet. But these guys will be getting phone calls soon. So that's really good. Things are getting much better in the SHU.
After 25 years they finally are giving us things that other prisons and states have always gotten. All these years we were cut off from the outside world.
It's almost time for my yard period, so I will close here and hope you all had a Happy Easter.
Respect
