Dear Readers,
Howdy! I hope all is well out in the real world.

Okay, so if you read my last posting, you heard about all the crap I went through and ended up transferred to the prison next door. Well, I had planned on telling y'all how different this place is compared with next door—and I probably will—but even bigger news has come up.

I'm going to be transferred—AGAIN. Last week I met with my case manager and asked her about my "security level points." Well, she looked into it and so it turns out, my points have been calculated wrong for years and I'm not supposed to be here at all—I'm supposed to be at a low security prison (this is a medium). Apparently, for years now, they've calculated my points as if I received an incident report for fighting and/or drugs, which would raise my points. Never happened.

What's even more screwed up is that I asked my case manager at the prison next door to look into my points and she just blew me off and said that they were so high 'cause I had so much time left on my sentence. That lazy b---- couldn't be bothered to do her job and actually look into it. I heard nothing but complaints about her when I was there and sure enough...

Okay, so this is ridiculous. I've been here a month, and I find out that I'm not supposed to be here and that I'm going to have to start all over—again—somewhere else.

So... here's what's gonna happen. My case manager just started the paperwork. I have asked to be sent to the prison in Ft. Worth, Texas. I had asked that the judge in my case recommend that I be sent to Ft. Worth originally ten years ago, and that's the only thing he did in my favor. That is near where my friend Pam lives. Unfortunately, the BOP doesn't give a damn about what the judge recommends on where you're from. They'll send you anywhere in the country they want, no matter how far away that is from your family and friends. So, I could end up at almost any "low" in the country. There's even a "low" next door and I could easily end up there, but I seriously don't want to. I am tired of this whole complex and the way things are run, and I want to get away from Butner entirely.

This whole process should take two or three months, so I estimate that by October sometime, I should be transferred.

A "low" is a good thing because there should be a lot less "politics" and drama and general BS. The biggest drawback to being at a low is the they all have cubicles. No cells, no doors, no privacy. None. Ugh. That is gonna suck big time.

It's also really rough starting over in a new place, and now I'm gonna have to do that twice in only a few months. Scary. I just hope this is a positive move and I end up somewhere that I can be happy as possible under the circumstances.

Love and blessings,
Kelly

My striving should always be positive and caring that nothing lays in the way of that goal. When something happens that depresses me, I will tell myself that the best manner to beat the negativity, is a positive attitude.
