Poetry, Prose, & CONZ

Over the past several months, I've been posting the copies of excerpts of WOD (Write or Die) Zine back issues on my blog. While doing this, work on the prison-based WOD Zine series and project continues to develop. With new contributors, ideas, and elements keeping the motivation and momentum behind this project going.

Today I received copies (1st print run) of WOD#6: Poetry, Prose, & CONZ. In the later weeks of August, I'll be posting material related to this issue. Unlike my previous posts of WOD Zine back issues, WOD #6 is a current issue and work in progress with an extended theme/project involved that provides another element to the creation of this one issue. So in the weeks leading up to my posting WOD#6, I thought it ideal to include that bit of context beforehand.

In case you were wondering about the title of this issue: yeah, it's supposed to have a kind of clever hint of wordplay. Pun intended. The idea and title for this issue came to me quite awhile before the actual content began to develop. The title stuck, and while the main theme is poetry and prose via spoken word, song/lyrics, "backstory" narrative throughout the @GV (@Golgotha) interview segment that really beings the nature of WOD #6 (Poetry, Prose, and CONZ) to view. As well as the recorded audio of two of his featured pieces.

I forgot that you could respond to me on here. I'm just now reading this. It looks like most of what you wanted transcribed is done, except for one. I will work on that one and others if I see more that have not already been transcribed. You should be getting some pictures from me soon!

Wow, using the term "condemned" is a powerful play on words. So were you involved in a poetry slam event? I look forward to reading more.

Love Always,

Safiya
