Dear Becca,

Girlfriend! Thanks for commenting!

If my last post showed up, I mentioned Gay Pride. I had an okay time. One thing I would have done differently is that I think they should have played more "club music." If I'm here next to you and have my mp3 player, I'm gonna try and get involved, and see if I can play a mix session for an hour or so. That's real gay pride.

By the way... Happy birthday next week!

Hugs,
Kelly

Dear Readers,
Howdy! Happy Lughnasadh! That's a harvest festival, and one of the eight major Wiccan holidays. I don't have any plans to celebrate and haven't been going to the Wiccan services lately (it was last night).

I am, however, taking the day off from typing, but not by choice. The library is closed today—again. This time it's 'cause they're having a graduation ceremony for those who got their GED or finished some Vo-Tech class. Personally, I think if it were me, I would decline to attend. Call me a bitch, but I cannot see myself attending some lameass graduation ceremony—in prison—'cause I finally got my GED. Burp! No thanks. Although I did hear they have cake...

I think I mentioned previously that I got a letter from my friend Ben, who was transferred, and I wrote him back. Well, he gave me his "father-in-law's" address to write to. His prison boyfriend's father—the BF is now at a "low" in Ohio.

Anyway, two days ago, my letter was returned from the father-in-law who is refusing to forward it. He says that, as a Christian, he doesn't approve of Ben's lifestyle. As if it's a choice!

God, I can't stand people like that. That is the main reason why I'm not a Christian. 'Cause so many people who claim to be Christian are so ugly and hateful and judgmental. I really can't stand that crap.

I did have something good happen this week. I've been waiting since June for a check to arrive from one of my typing clients. I don't know why it took so long and even this guy (who sent it via a friend in the real world) asked me on a daily basis if it had showed up. In any case, it showed up in my account finally. I do hope to wait for two weeks for it to "clear" 'cause the BOP will illegally put a two-week hold on bank cashier's checks or money orders. But... in two weeks, I will finally be able to buy another mp3 player to replace the one that was stolen last January. Insane.

Which reminds me, my mp3 player was stolen off the charging station which, at the time, was at a big desk in the middle of the common area of the unit. It was a highly visible spot. However, in their bottomless stupidity, the staff have had all the charging stations moved to a small alcove in the corner by the ice machines. They should just add a sign saying "STEAL ME" above it since they have now made it so much easier to steal them now.

A lot of people have complained about this, but the staff doesn't care. The BOP is just making more money off these tiny mp3 players, which they charge us $90 for. I was told that they're no more than $25 in the real world.

There's a guy in the leather shop here who is making a "locking device" for the charging stations. He's charging $10 for them, and you need to either use your locker's combination lock or buy another. I've already bought one of these 'cause I'd rather pay $10 than have to come up with another $90. Let me remind you, though, that technically these locking devices are considered "contraband" and they would be confiscated at any time. It is so awesome dealing with this nonsense. (NOT!)

What else... oh, so, I keep mentioning that I do typing as a "hustle". Many of you are probably imagining a terminal and keyboard, much like the same in front of you now. BUZZ! Wrong answer! Some of you may be too young, but they used to make these things called typewriters before you were born. They're an ancient device used by people in the older days to manually type documents. That's what we use. No MS Word with spellcheck or easy edits. We do everything the old fashioned way. Major yuck.

In any case, until next time, I wish you...

Love and blessings,
Kelly

P.S. Amazing Sweet Sound—if you're still out there, I hope you're happy and healthy! Best wishes!!
