—in the promised land, the Israelites would need to respect authority and building strong families. But what does it mean to honor parents? Partly, it means speaking well of them and politely to them. It also means acting in a way that shows them courtesy and respect (but not to obey them if this means disobedience to God). It means following their teachings and examples of putting God first. Parents have a special place in God's sight; even those who find it difficult to get along with their parents are still commanded to honor them.

I believe every child should have adults who they can trust outside of their parent(s) or guardian(s). That easily listen and act of the child is put in danger. I had school teachers, friends' moms, uncles and aunts who I could go to any time I felt my parents were doing something that would harm me or the household of any kind of way. I remember when I was 9 years old. We was staying with my great-grandma Ada. My mom, stepdad, and uncle were safe. They were drinking and smoking marijuana in the room where I was in. I love my parents, but I went to Great-Grandma Ada. She scolded them 'cause Grandma was the mother of the church. You don't do that in church people's houses.

I was raised up in church. My parents got saved. But I guess you say, "How did you know about that at an early age?" Even at that age, you have all types of peer pressure at school and the talk is very alive.

Did I disrespect my parents by telling my grandma? No, because suppose the police came to the door because they heard marijuana in the house? Arrest the adults. We would have went to foster care.

My babies, you have to wise up. That is one example of disobedience. Because your body belongs to God. Spiritually, they belong to God. 1 Corinthians 6:12, 13: some actions are not sinful in themselves, but they are not appropriate because they can control our lives and lead us away from God. Some actions may hurt others. Anything we do that hurts rather than helps others is not right. Such as food for the stomach and stomach for the food is not sinful. But when it becomes gluttony, overindulging, overeating, it's wrong. Because it can cause health problems (diabetic, etc.).

Babies, our bodies are God's temple. 1 Corinthians 6:19: how we pollute ourselves does matter. I don't care if your parents tell you to lie. Say to your mom and dad or guardian that if you lie, this or that would happen. "I am not trying to be disobedient, but I don't want to hurt nobody." If they don't listen, go to the person who can help you in the family. Go to the adult that is straight on the matter. If you're being disrespectful to your parent(s) or guardian(s), absolutely no. But you got to save yourself and others from trouble.

1 Corinthians 6:19: do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who, in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were brought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.

I personally don't believe I am the only child in the world affiliated with Christianity at an early age. So this is why I am talking like this. Because there are a lot of youth in the churches today who are going through a storm with their parent(s) and/or guardian(s).

So what did Paul mean when he said that our bodies belong to God? Many people say they have the right to do whatever they want with their own bodies. Although they think that this is freedom, they are really enslaved to their own desires. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit fills and lives in us. Therefore, we no longer own our bodies. "Bought at a price" refers to slaves purchased at an auction. Christ's death freed us from sin, but also obligates us to his sacrifice. If you live in a building owned by someone els,e you try not to violate the building's rules. Because your body belongs to God, you must not violate his standards of living.

This is what I am saying when I said what does it mean to honor one's parents. Partly, it means speaking well of them and politely to them. It also means acting in a way that shows them courtesy and respect. But not to obey them if this means disobedience from God.

Ezekiel 5:11: it was a serious sin to defile the temple, God's sanctuary, by worshiping ideals and practicing evil within its very walls. In the New Testament, we learn that God now makes his home within those who are his; our bodies are God's temple. We defile God's temple today by allowing gossip, bitterness, love of money, lying, or any other wrong action or attitude to be a part of our lives. By asking the Holy Spirit's help, we can keep from defiling—
