"Twenty First Century Sweat Box"
By Ronald W. Clark Jr.
The use of sweat boxes has long been found to be unconstitutional by the United States Supreme Court. However, down here in the dirty south, they are continuing to be used, under the guise of special housing cells. Inmates are confined and isolated in cells, where summertime temperatures are 90, and sometimes 100 degrees. When you factor in the brutal Florida humidity, the feel-like temperatures in these cells are downright inhumane! It amounts to a sweat box/torture chamber.
Here in P-Dorm, where we are warehoused for death, the builders constructed the concrete recreation yards, here in-between the wings, of the building. Wherefore the ventilation, pulls the 100,120 degree temperatures coming off that concrete, into the cells, intensifying the heat and already unbearable living conditions! We're sealed up back here, and cut off from the main hallway, where the officer stations are located. There is anywhere from a 15 to a 20 degree temperature change, when you enter the front door, and walk on to these wings. At times it'll feel like you're stepping through a wall of heat. And anyone who says it doesn't get a 100 degrees back here, is telling you a bold face lie. In the late 1990's early 2000's, there was a court order, for a temperature log to be kept. And that is in court records, "verifying" what I'm saying about these 90 and 100 degrees temperatures on these wings. You can contact the Florida Justice institute, who should be able to provide you with the court case # and possibly the actual temperature log. You can do a false temperature reading by holding the front door open and allowing the cold air from the main hall to be pulled onto the wing. But that early court-ordered temperature log speaks the truth.
At times, when the humidity is extremely high and it's damp outside, these wings become the perfect breeding ground for bacteria, mold, mildew and all sorts of viruses. The walls and floors will sweat, and everything back here is damp, and musky. Some wings are worse than others. So not only are we housed in a twenty first century sweat box/incubator for disease and bacteria, but it's a dilapidated building that has structural failures all throughout it!! Ants, roaches, spiders and mosquitoes are common back here on these wings. Snakes and mice have even found their way into here.
And yes we have ACA (American Correctional Association) audits/inspections. Let me tell you something you may not know about the ACA. These people don't care about constitutional standards, this is a money-making organization that gets paid for these annual audits and for certifying each institution as ACA certified. Research it! The ACA lowered their standards decades ago because the prison administrators were crying about the standards being too high. If you get the ACA manual, you'll see very few standards are under mandatory protocol, and those are fire, security and food service standards that can't be reduced! So that is unequivocal evidence of a fraudulent watch dog that's eating the scraps from the table of its dominant master, the FDOC, and the billion dollar prison industry! Yes tax payers are being played for "fools" and taken advantage of by this ACA scheme that's been going on for years. The audits are not randomly conducted without notification. No... the prison administration is given months of notification to hide and conceal any and all violations that may be taking place. Yes it's a façade that perpetuates a fraud of constitutional credibility! That is the facts of the matter! Yes sweat boxes were found to be unconstitutional, but have been woven back into existence under the guise of special housing. This is a twenty first century sweat box! The more you know! God bless you.
In peace, love and mercy Ronnie
