"SOLITARY CONFINEMENT LEGISLATION"

This past year the Legislatures in New Jersey enacted a new law, that banned and limited the use of solitary confinement isolation cells. For they and many others around this country have come to realize that warehousing human beings in these cages, is beyond barbaric! These cells mentally mess up the minds of men and women who are forced to endure these mentally brutal cages of horror! And that's the hard core truth. Courts are recognizing it, as an eighth amendment violation, of cruel and unusual punishment, for they've seen the detrimental data that shows how these cages destroy the human mind.

What I'm getting at is this. We need our Florida legislators to implement the exact same bill that New Jersey just passed and implemented into law. Cause the Florida Department of Corrections grossly over uses solitary confinement, in ways that supersede 33- Florida Administrative Codes. I'm asking for your assistance in pushing your House Rep, and your local Senators to draw up, pass and institute this New Jersey bill, that is humane and shows that Florida is evolving from its backwards stance of abusing inmates in the FDOC.

I thank you for your time and help. And if you have any questions that I can answer please feel free to ask. Change is needed and it starts here. God bless you and continue to be a beacon of light in this dark world.
