"UPDATE ON RECREATION"

Well the three yards a week, that took place during the week of July 29 through August 2, here in P-dorm at Union Correctional Institution ended the very next week. Why? I don't know. But this I do know: we're not even getting our full six hours of rec, for which we're supposed to be entitled to under 33-601.830 section (7),(I). We are lucky if we're getting five and a half hours. When the rec officers start pulling us, that's where they're starting our time. Not when we get out there, but when they get us in here, in front of the first cell. Or when the first inmate is placed on the yard. For basketball, volleyball, etc. can't get started until everyone is out there.

The second issue is these yards were designed for no more than 28 inmates. Yet someone, don't know who, raised the limit to 48! Which is insane! There's not enough square footage for 48 guys to be out there. This is absolutely ridiculous! And it needs to be changed. We have two kiosks out there. So in three hours only 24 inmates, if using their entire 15 minutes, is capable of using the kiosk. Yet they're putting double that on these yards. And again they've got other yards that are open and available for use. So they could easily put 24 on each yard. Staff convenience usually overrides logic, common sense, and security. I've seen it happen time and time again over the years.

A lot of what they've changed here, has been out of convenience for the staff. And in doing so they've inconvenienced us. Which no one really cares about. This place is amazingly corrupt, and run as poorly as third world country. Favoritism, bribery and so much more unethical conduct takes place within these walls. Yet it's the good ol' boy system playing out as it always has, and always will. Until someone says enough is enough. What really needs to happen is th Feds need to take over the FDOC. Cause we've seen leadership come and go and abuse and corruption follows behind each new administration. This place earned the title Florida Department of Corruption.

We need this recreation to change. We need more out of cell time yesterday, not today, tomorrow or six months from now. These cages are brutally mind bending! Psychologically damaging!!! Please contact Secretary Mark Inch and explain this situation. Have him make these people provide three yards a week now. Make sure the time doesn't start until the last inmate is on the yard. And that the yards are spaced out over the week, so we're not left in this cage for 3, 4, 5 days straight. Which happens "a lot," and there's proof of this by viewing our DC 6-229 movement charts which shows you when we get recreation. The time for change is here and now, not next week, next month, or next year. Please with your help, your email, we can do this. Thank you for your time and help. God bless you.

Sincerely Ronald W. Clark Jr. #812974
