I AM MY BROTHERS' KEEPER
By Ronald W. Clark Jr.

When Senator Bracy called up here (Wednesday, August 14, 2019) concerning the raw sewage that's been overflowing into our cells, staff told me, "It wasn't your cell. It doesn't concern you."

Well, it does concern me.

Number one, the place smells like a sewage plant when these toilets overflow. But more importantly, I've got the skills and heart to reach out and bring about change for my fellow human beings. I am my brothers' keeper. Do for others as you would have them do for you. What's the purpose of life if you don't stand for something?

I am no saint! Far from it! I'm the most flawed human being there is! But I'm just trying to make up and atone for all my mistakes. And there has been so, so, so very many! God, I wish I could change it!

What I couldn't give to live this life over. Unfortunately, we only get one shot. I wallow in guilt and doing the right thing here. Being my brothers' keeper, looking after their goodwill, makes me feel some sort of atonement for my sins. So, I will continue to do what I do until I close my eyes forever.

But we are our brothers' keeper. So, when you see a brother or a sister in need, remember the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Yes, you are your brother's or sister's keeper. God bless you.

In peace, love, and brotherhood,
Ronald W. Clark Jr. #812974
