Dear Erne,
Thank you for your 9 March 2020 Comm. "Helping someone help themselves". I'm all for that, my friend. So let me define that word
HELP, 1: to give assistance or support to. 2a: to make more pleasant or bearable; IMPROVE, RELIECE. b archaic: RESCUE, SAVE. 3a. to be of use of: BENEFIT. b: to further the advancement of: PROMOTE. 4a: o change for the better.

I remember a time in the visiting room when Joe wanted to help a couple who were arguing at their table next to ours, to resolve their problem. "It's all they have sir, why would you take that from them?", I asked.
SO now let me define the word
POSTULATE, 1: DEMAND, CLAIM. 2a: to assume or claim as true, existent, or necessary: depend upon or start from the postulate of.
POSTULATE, 1: a hypothesis advanced as an essential presupposition, condition, a premise of a train of reasoning.

In a Victim Society, I simply didn't want anyone implying that "HELP" was necessary. The Price of Freedom, as you well know, is a constant alertness, a constant willingness to fight back. I, myself, admire the fight I see in people who refuse to conform to other determinisms. HELP isn't always helpful, is it? I for one, prefer "CHOICE" be defined, when "HELP" is offered. IT seems maybe you misunderstood what I was saying too. Squiggles on paper can do that. But then squiggles on paper can undo that too. I love you.

I do understand the technical definition of POSTULATE means to cause a thinkingness- or rather, a causative thinkingness. That's the Premise part of Logic, isn't it? Thinking through a lense of presupposition can aberrate considerations. That's all I was saying. In the HCCL equation, the Cl precedes HC. Or maybe I'm just getting dyslexic in my old age. (cont. p.2)

The range of what we think an do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice what we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds.
Freedom - from the illusion - requires a fight. Understanding is a sort of a total solvent, you see? I'll happily join a fight in the ennobling quest to better understand the spirit in relationship to itself and other life. And in that search, it all comes down to confronting other points of view. At least that is the best way I've learned to help someone help theirself. Haven't you noticed?

I'm smiling with a certain peace of mind now, because you permitted me to express - and reconsider - my points of view, and their dramatizations. Practically the whole human race is hypnotized to think what someone else told them to think. I've broken that spell to a very high degree for myself, and to varied degrees in others over the years I'm happy to say.

Of course I would be as happy as could be if I was in better communication with my loved ones. Destiny, her siblings, their mom, my other progeny and their moms, my sisters and their progeny, my life-long friends et-al. But alas, confronting points of view isn't exactly what they like to do. One of these days, I'll squiggle more aesthetic works of art to send them al from time to time, expressing my live of beauty - and creativity, prevails.

Unless of course this 100 year plague does that it did in 1918, and some of us don't make it out alive. In any event though, I want you all to know that I appreciate the fact that we shared this life together. My choices in life were no more or less difficult than your own, I'm sure - different as they seem. But of this I'm certain; WE are as alive as we can communicate! Plague or not.
