The Torment of Another

I have an issue that maybe someone can help me from the free world. This article is not meant to tear staff down at Pulaski because our warden is a good woman. She help me to get my medical appointment. Now I have my medicine. This issue happen before this warden, now it has escalated into bully from other inmates and health issue. I could grieve but who am I going to give it to. So now this issue has turned into deliberate indifference against me. I lived in the honor dorm at Pulaski State Prison. When you move in, you sign a contract.

Resident Rules. The first rule on the contract says as a Honor Dorm resident, it is expected that you are mature enough to settle problems among yourselves. If the issue cannot be worked out among you, speak with the Honor Dorm Counselor, the Deputy Warden/Care & Treatment or the Correction Staff. But when you do try to solve your issue amongst the inmate, it doesn't work because on A/B side there is a lot of bullies. They are controlling with the TVs, rooms, or their inner circles. When you open your mouth you are either ignored or moved out of the program. It's a lot of favoritism with certain inmates and staff.

Prime example: I lived in room 118 with an inmate named Michelle Prather. I never knew she had a problem with me until people told me. She is trying to get you moved because she don't want you as her bunkmate. Then I notice she started bullying, do this and don't do this about the cleaning rags. One morning was on the toilet really using it. She told me to cut it short because she had to use the bathroom. The bullying got worse, she had people watching the room, coming literally to see what I was doing.

Then all kinds of comments was made about the warden who was here before this one we have now. Prather as working on the front lawn. This particular day she came in to torment me. I am going to sleep. So my plan was to clean my locker for the audit that was next day, which she was supposed to be on her detail until certain. It was like she did what she want and still do. She cam e into the room and started to threaten me. They say you are smart but you ain't smart than me. She acts as if she wanted to hit me. Called me trash. I said you're not going to bully me. I closed the door for count. I thought that was what we were supposed to do. She made in a seem. I'm not going in that room with her. The officer said you're going to your room or you're going to lockdown. So she came back in the room. The whole time she was threatening me saying I pick the right day on the right officers. When I didn't do nothing but lock the door. Michelle Prather said oh you going to move out of here today, wait till I go up front. She said you mess with the wrong one. I am going to make your life living hell.

This inmate Michelle Prather went up front, got me moved less than 20 minutes. I moved to a top bunk. My asthma has acted up more than ever and back problems. Medical is not helping. They said they only give seizure patients bottom bunk profile.

Back to the story: when I seen the Deputy Warden at Kaine's she said the upper staff did that. But when my letter got intercepted I got called to the office by the pass warden to question me about the letter to the Commissioner. She call that Deputy Warden she said that she told me the counselor made me. But here is the problem with this, what makes Michelle Prather special because she has gotten rid of plenty of bunkmates before and after me. All because she worked up front. She don't work up there now. But this same Deputy Warden favors this inmate by putting her on another good detail after another incident came up. Ever since she had the move, the other inmates started to bully.

It's hard to get a TV because the day area TV is Prather. Tonight she came out. Somebody needs to clean this table, I don't care who it is. This inmate acts more like a staff than an inmate. Everywhere I go in this building, inmates feel the need to bully. If I try to defend myself, they go tell staff that I start arguments. Or I am always the victim, something Prather said about me.

Now I've complained to the counselor/officers about them because they have been trying to harm me with the blow dryer on high for the heat. Then I've been out of asthma medicine, but I have it now. But the blow dryer's tearing me up. Nobody is taking my condition seriously. The roommates are mean, especially Tiffany Scott. They heard me on numerous occasions gasping for air on my top bunk. One bunkmate, Latiliya Hutchins, just looked at me, and Tiffany Scott said "hmm."

January 11th, I had a severe asthma attack. Went to medical ER where I had a breathing treatment. When I came back to the dorm, Tiffany Scott and Latiliya Hutchins still had their blow dryer on high. I could breathe again. That night I could have died. We are short of officers, so anything goes with some inmates. They are cruel and don't care about another inmate's life.

January 21, I suffered another asthma attack because of their blow dryers. They did the same thing, one just looked at me gasping for air while the other acts as if I was disturbing her sleep. January asthma attack: throat swells up. Friday: throat was still swollen. I ask the officer could she call medical 'cause my throat was swollen. She told me that they would probably tell me to put in a sick call, and the other officer said I have asthma too.

Went on with medical. Nobody temp to call because these are some of the same officers close with Michelle Prather. Certain gay couples in the dorm. It's basically like whoever Michelle Prather and Tiffany Scott have a problem with whoever they friends with better have a problem with you. But when it comes to my health and reputation, they bully.

This is serious. I have to speak out. Whatever Michelle Prather told them people to moved me. They are sticking to it. I don't understand how you can move another inmate off another inmate's word and continue to punish that inmate.

How can inmates like Tiffany Scott, Michelle Prather, and Latiliya Hutchins think 118 and 131 is their apartment? Nobody else allowed to live in there. Out of my 25 years, I have never seen inmates like this. Very comfortable till they torment another inmate. Because they feel like the cell is theirs, the officers are their friends, and their friends are only their friends. Anything happens to me in my sleep, I stop breathing. Or if I died of an asthma attack, it will be because of their blow dryers (Latiliya Hutchins and Tiffany Scott's).

I said I am tired of being bullied. January 26, I asked the officer can she please ask them blow dryers off because it's triggering my asthma. Tiffany Scott started to curse at me. I didn't say one word. The next morning she got lou din the day area since I am a bully. I am going to show her. Everybody on the hallway can go in their room, take a nap, or use the bathroom. I heard a conversation between Latiliya Hutchinson and Tiffany Scott asked had I been in their room. Latiliya said she been out on the hallway. Then they continue to talk, but Latiliya hurried up and shut the door. At all times they make sure one of them are in that cell.

I've told the counselor over the dorm about the bullying and the health issues they are creating on me, but as I said, Michelle Prather started this mess and now things are going too far. Somebody help. I got to speak out. Things have went too far with these inmates and the situation. Could you please make sure?

I am harassed, shipped from this prison, or retaliated against. My current circumstances in my cell have been reported to the officer and counselor over the dorm. Nobody will do anything to none of these inmates. It's as if they are trouble. With Michelle Prather, she is cool with the Deputy Warden of care/treatment. Basically it seems she does no wrong in her eyes.
