My name is Robert Hartman.
I'm a 27 year old white male, I've been locked up since Oct 20, 2007 in IL. Since being locked up I've took a few college classes and I've worked the whole time, I've never got in any trouble and I've done everything I can to better myself.
Now with that said my out date should be changing in a big way. Sometime soon, I can't go in to details because my case is still in court, my reason for telling you this is because if they let me out tomorrow since I have no family, at best I would go to a half way house with no money and no outside support, to say the least I need help and have very few if any places or people to get it from, but it's not only me there's tons of other men + women being released back in to a world where we can't get a job and are treated as if we're worth nothing.
I don't know if my words will be read by anyone who will or can help but I'm begging for myself and every other person like myself who truly wants to do the right thing, stay out of trouble and have a chance at rebuilding a life worth living.
Please help
We need more options to better our self while in prison and way more help re entering the outside world.
