My Journey
Throughout my life, I've made a lot of poor decisions. I ran away from home and experienced homelessness, got involved with gangs, violence, crime, drugs, and alcohol. My poor decision-making ultimately led to my current incarceration.
In 2002, I was found guilty of burglary, possession of a firearm as a felon, and two counts of theft of firearms. I was sentenced to 13 1/2 in prison and five years of probation.
I have been in prison for over ten years now and I'm progressively making slides in improving the quality of the man I need to be in this world. I've engaged in college programming completing all of my courses with straight A's, and I completed self-help, vocational, and training programs with honors. I intend on taking all the knowledge and tools I've learned in prison to the free world so I can apply it to my everyday life out there.
For the first time in my life, I'm excited about doing the right thing. I know my journey won't be easy, but I've learned it's how we respond to the hardships in our lives that define the quality of men and women we are in this world. This time, I won't settle for anything less than success.
