Love Thy Neighbor

Love thy neighbor
Why put the teachings
of Christ upon a shelf?
Not loving thy neighbor
as thyself.
I refer you to Luke 6:32
For that statement
is raw and true.
That sinners love those
who love them.
So why must we be
so harsh and grim?
For it's love, compassion,
peace, and mercy,
the teachings of Christ,
that set the heart free.
And that's what Christ
was teaching us to see.
I refer you to Mark 12:31
The second greatest commandment
given by God's son.
To love thy neighbor
as thyself
So take the teachings
of Christ off the shelf
and put them to work
in your daily life.
Showing thy neighborly love
without any strife.
