Dear Readers,

Howdy!

Well... I'm in the fucking Hole again. (SHU, Special Housing Unit/Segregation). I am so pissed off I can't even stand it.

On Friday, 9/21/12, I was paged to report to the Compound Officer shortly after lunch. I did + he promptly took me to the Hole. I am here for "investigation" because some piece of shit fag (I can say that, I'm gay) named John Jennings went to SIS (the investigative unit of lieutenants) + told them I threatened to kill him. Are you f-cking kidding me?

Let me back up. On Wed., 9/19, 2 days before this, I saw my "good friend" John sitting with 2 other guys at lunch + I went to sit with them. Prior to this, John + I were friends. He's in a different unit, but we would talk and/or eat together at "Chow" most every day (he works at the kitchen). In fact, two days prior to that, we ate dinner together + he offered me some of his meal that he didn't want.

So, when I sat down at the table on Wed., he got up + moved to another table. I was like, "Uh, what's up with him?" The other two guys said something about John talking to SIS + that I threatened to kill him. I didn't take it very seriously + we joked about it.

Shortly after lunch at the 1230pm "move", I was going out to Rec + John was walking with another guy from his unit to the Chow Hall. I asked him what was all this BS about my threatening to kill him. No response. I asked him who said that. He said that I said that a week to a week and a half ago. I told him that I never said that + that he was delusional + needed mental help as he raced ahead to the kitchen.

Well, I walked for an hour (lovin' the new jazz on C3P0 (my MP3)), + I get to thinking. I came in at 1:30pm + immediately sent an email to SIS to tell them about all this to head off any trouble - AND to avoid going to the Hole (ha!). I tell SIS everything I just related - all of it - including the names of the guys present + how out of the blue this was. I told them I wanted nothing to do with him, I would not speak to him in the future, + that I was specifically doing this to avoid any trouble. (Double ha!)

Two days later they lock me up. It is now the 30th + I still haven't been questioned once by the incompetent assholes. Instead of diffusing the situation, they have made it so much worse.

Yesterday was my birthday. Happy fucking birthday. I am still in the Hole after 2 weeks, I still don't have any of my property (except my radio), + I STILL have not once been questioned by SIS. The only good news I've gotten is someone said they saw Jennings being put in here yesterday. I sure hope so, he deserves it.

OK, so I was in the Hole at my prison, called the Annex, until Thursday, the 27th. Oh, back up: I was alone until Wed, the 26th + then they moved another guy in from my unit. That was also the day the batteries died in my radio + I stupidly didn't buy more from Commissary that day 'cause I was SURE I'd either get more from my property or get out. Another bad decision.

Anyway, the Annex is pretty small + was full, so on Thurs, my cellie + I + several other guys were moved to the "Low" prison next door + put in their much larger SHU. That whole process is a huge hassle in itself. First, we're handcuffed thru the tray-slot in the door. I can't remember if we were chained then or not, but maybe. We had to carry our bags of clothes +/or property as we shuffled across the secured, locked-down compound to R+D (Receiving + Discharge). We're put in a holding cell, sans handcuffs. Wait. Then, after they process paperwork or whatever, we're re-cuffed with chains around our waists that the cuffs are attached to, + they put leg shackles on us. They always put them too tight on my ankle + once I put my weight on it, it tightens up + hurts.

Anyway... we literally shuffle to a waiting van, after giving our name + number to the final window. Try getting into a van with leg shackles + your hands cuffed by your waist. Not graceful. We're driven by van to the Low next door. Name + # at the first window. R + D. Then SHU.

I stuck close to my cellie from the Annex 'cause I sure didn't want to end up in a cell with any of the other guys. At the SHU we're put in a holding cell sans cuffs. We sat in there for 3 1/2 hours before they finally put us in a cell. Luckily, they put me + that same guy in the same cell - there's no telling who you'll get.

OK, my cellie + I are together until Monday. Then, a guy I know who had heard I was also in the SHU, asked the CO (officer) if he could move in with me. We're friends, so they moved the other guy in with another Mexican, + moved Paul in with me. And here we sit.

Paul had received a "shot" (incident report) + his seg-time that he received as part of his sanction is up next Wed., so if there's bed-space for him, he should leave next week. However, an investigation, such as mine, could last 90 days or more. I'm hoping that it's true that Jennings was locked up + they'll let me out. I hope.

Oh, by the way. Say you're in the Hole for 2 months for investigation + then they decide to give you a "slot". Then you have to wait for a hearing by the Hearing Officer (DHO). Even Paul, who got locked up on Aug. 15, had to wait in the Hole till Sept. 11 before his hearing. Then say the DHO sanctions you to 30 days in the Hole. That sanction doesn't start until the day of your hearing. None of your prior time in the Hole counts toward your sanction. Fair, huh?

Take care, dear readers.

Love + Blessings,

Kelly
