Apathetic Toll

Disemboweled through assimilation
The joke was played on me
More than words to rattle the cage
To raise a child of dessenchantment
In a world full of disillusion
With no safeguard for dissemblance
Only the dispossession of a soul
No tears are shed for me
As apathy takes its toll...
