Digging your philosophizing. Please keep it coming.
I'm sure you've seen this old plum of a poem by Robert Frost, from 1916:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
We can hear you, loud and clear. I get your point about the house of cards in the CA economy, sadly when the house falls down it will probably be the least powerful in society who get trapped under the rubble. Let's hope that right before the collapse people realize we're all in the same boat and have to pull together.
Keep up the detailed reports of what your life is like -- we're interested!
This web blogging site is pretty interesting....I am currently in school and intested in psychology. I read your blog and no offense, but, it was a little vague..... How does a south bay boy go from the beach to the pen? I am just very curious to learn more about what exactly goes through someones mind from committing a crime, doing time, parole and then making a conscious decision to do something that will most likely land them back in prison. 25 to life is a crazy amount of time, especially for that offense. Did you know that you would most likely pick up that third strike? How has it affected your family? Where do they fit into all this? What do you plan on doing in the future?

At first, sorry for my mistakes in English, I am brazilian, and my English vocabulary is still poor. Second, I m only interest in friendship, nothing more. I read your very nice letter. I think you are very sensitive person. I can imagine how difficult is for you to be in a prison. If you dont mind, I would like to know why are you there? I am Portuguese and Literature teacher, I was born and raise in Brazil, Have you ever been here? Where are you from? What did you do before to be there? What are your favorite hobbies? food? book? movie? God bless you. Sincerely, Claudia
