For Gay Citizens A Watershed Moment

"For "gay citizens" a watershed moment"

I have a thought. I know that's how it starts.

Same sex marriage:

I was given an article by someone who knows I read anything written about the L/G/B/T/Q community. My community.

It was written by Catalina Camia, "USA Today".

If her title is right, we're in trouble. You see she uses a word, "citizen", that gives anyone who wishes to deny us same sex marriage can. But also has a valid reason not to.

President Obama's comments, "Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law." Obama said.

"Citizen[s]" as defined by Webster Dictionary: def 1 an inhabitant of a city or town; 2 a person who owes allegiance to a government and is "entitled" rights and protection.

I had to study more so I went to the law library: let me look into "Barrons" Legal Guide - Law Dictionary: "Steven H. Gifts", pg 76-77. It states Citizen: As a member of a nation or political community one owes allegiance to, and may claim protection and their rights from the government. 153 N.E. 13, 17 under the constitution. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state in which they reside. The US con., 14th Amendment.

Citizenship is the STATUS of being a citizen. In the U.S. there is usually a double citizenship, that is, citizen of a nation, and a citizenship in the state in which one resides.

Generally in the U.S, one may acquire citizenship by birth in the U.S. or by naturalization therein. S9 S.ct 884.

"Since we, I, was born here in the US and are subject to the jurisdiction thereof: I, we GLBTQ community may claim ALL the protection and rights of the U.S. due process."

This means, "bottom line", no citizenship, no taxes - we're attacking the courts in a wrong direction. Are we citizens, if so there's no question, we can get married, no question. If not, no taxes, no jury duty.
