Dead Beat
What is a dead beat? Is it someone who is homeless, out of work, doesn't have a car, or stays with their parents? Is a dead beat an alcoholic or drug addict, a convict, or what about a struggling performer?
I have my own ideas of what a dead beat is but I'm constantly at odds with what I believe because I constantly fall into the category myself (ha-ha). I'll leave prison a convicted felon, I'll have no job, no money, no car, be living with family, and I'll be trying to struggle my way through putting my life together so the stands... Will society consider me a dead beat? And if so, when will I be able to shake that stigma?
I have no problem working hard, showing myself approved, and struggling. I created my circumstances and no one is responsible for bouncing back but me... I'm just curious of what ridicule or judgement I'll face in the process?
I'd hate to be labeled a "Dead Beat" but if that's the reality I'll face then I'll embrace because I know it will only be momentary. I have plans to achieve some major things once I'm out and in time people will see I'm far from a dead beat or loser by any means... I'm an achiever.
Take the time to give me your feedback on this topic. I'm very curious what your views are... take care and I look forward to hearing from you.
