God Is Committed To US
April 23, 2013
Be careful around people who don't value themselves; because they're
incapable of valuing you. Look for those who enhance you, not inhibit you;
who fertilize your mind and fortify your faith. When you're around them you'll
see your best qualities mirrored, and be nutured by the words
that come from their lips. When you encounter somebody who says you have
nothing to offer, be sure to laugh; it's impolite to hear a joke and not
laugh! I've developed these codes of ethics while serving my time here
in prison. Everyday I sit back ana analyze my surroundings and conclude
that God is committed to me. When God made us He stepped back and said
"That's very good." So I had to stop entertaining contrary opinions; which is
the equivalent of trying to dodge rain drops in the rain, here in prison.
We as prisoners have so much potential that the word "possibility" is
written all over us. We're just humans that made mistakes. But by
God's grace we can be everything He desires and planned for us to be.
His plan is unwaivered unless we veer off the beatened path.
God's love isn't based on our performance. He didn't pick us because of
our virtues; or abandon us because we're in prison. He's the God of
second chances, and third ones too. The God who gets us through
each prison day, is the same God who will carry us until our
parole day. He's committed to us. We just have to make sure
we're committed to Him.
