Created Changes

We, as God's created creatures, cannot always control our circumstances. But what we do have control over is our attitude about the circumstances brought upon us or the situations we put ourselves in.

For example, "I" put myself in prison. "I" disobeyed the law, so I am surely responsible for my imprisonment. I have accepted my role in this.

But when other events pop up in our lives unexpectedly, God has something special for us to do, whether the situation is good or bad. God uses each of us for His purpose. It is a calling that not all people recognize or they refuse to do so.

He gives us the spiritual strength to refuse to be disturbed or destroyed by the disappointments of life. We have to believe that all things work together for our good, even though it doesn't look like that on the surface. His goal is to fashion us into the likeness of Jesus Christ so that we are enabled and equipped to fulfill the purpose He has for us.

For myself, it is a blessing to even realize these facts. God is our defense, and by me totally depending on Him, I have found superhuman strength to carry through this whole ordeal.

I came into prison as a child. I thought as a child. I talked like a child. I had the attitude of a child. But by the grace of God I am no a man who has put childish things behind me. I can't wait for people to meet the new "me"!
