Good morning! Thank you very much for your help at btb.
On finding comfort in religion, I can't say that I'm struggling with faith, I'm feeling drawn to the word, a lot of what I hated so much I'm seeing in a different light. Remember the parable of the wheat and weeds in Matthew 13:24-30, believers in Christ are supposed to be the wheat, non-believers the weeds. Well I couldn't distinguish between the two, now I see we had wheat disguising itself and all along it was weeds. Bottom line is there's far more demonic disciples serving Satan in these churches than there are true believers who are following the true teachings of Christ. When Jesus says many shall come to him mt 7:22, but he will not know them, verse 23, because they were serving Satan instead of following him. Well that's the thing with religion, it's of evil designed to mislead and divide, so anyone who calls themselves anything other than "a follower of Christ" is following Satan and the demonic spirits that Paul writes about in Timothy 4:1.
Yes, I'm feeling drawn to the word, but the desire to do my own will is strong. So I'm not finding comfort.
