I have been writing on this blog for more than a year now. I do not write as much as I would like because the kind people at Between The Bars provide their services to me free of charge; I do not want to wear out my welcome or work them too hard. But I write as my heart feels the need or desire, and that has worked so far.

My purpose for writing this blog has been to share my story and perhaps reach out to those whom I have wronged. I never expected or hoped for more. But I have experienced incredible personal growth through this experience, and I am surprised - shocked - by the blog's impact on others, as well.

I have received comments telling me my words are "thought provoking" even "beautiful". Readers, I think, are sometimes amazed by my honesty. I recently learned that my honesty about how and why I murdered Steve had inspired someone. A reader in Georgia went so far as to send me a wonderful letter (yep, snail mail). (Unfortunately, my letter to Georgia keep getting returned to me).

It is amazing to me that so many people would be interested in reading the writings of a man in prison for murder. I thank my Higher Power that even one would find them beautiful, inspiring, or in any way beneficial to their life. I have much more to share. I hope you all will continue to read it. I very much look forward to receiving your comments. I also love getting regular letters, so please feel free to write and share your own experience, strength, and hopes with me, as well. I can be reached at the address below and will always respond to all as quickly as possible.

All my best,
Daniel

I don't think that anyone is excusing what you did. It certainly isn't your past that's inspiring, but who you are in the present.
