The Strong
(Mr. Alan Gray)

He was always there, the strong
inspiring me to become,
as is--
allowing me to ride
cradled upon his boot, was
an exhibit of strength

Leading by example
feeding me cheese on crackers
sliced w/ his pocket knife
Strength, I never seen fail.

My great grandfather passed
when I was about seven, and
even in his casket, he was never
a weak strength-- 7/10/13 7:42 pm
