Hello World!
What is in a man's name or does a rose by any other name smell as sweet? The answers: Everything and depending on the species. To speak on the latter first, a flower simply blooms by the will of God. Even if it contains thorns it is never evil. To the naming of a human child, great care and consideration is given with the hope that the child will grow to honor the namesake.
In this modern age, people do all they can to protect themselves from identity thieves. These criminals want to steal good names because they want to hide while doing evil.
I write on this topic because I wish to share a small victory, a rare win in the vast judicial bureaucracy that I threw myself into. While filing motions to the court to amend my General Restitution to Direct so the family of my victim would receive the funds, I received a Minute Order from the Court (attached). On reviewing it, to my surprise, I discovered that two aliases had been entered on 4/12/2003. I was surprised for two reasons. The first because I had never used an alias, and second, I had been incarcerated for 16 years when the names were entered.
I took a deep breath, knowing it would be an arduous task to correct this error because of two reasons. The first because wen anything is documented on an official form it becomes the truth. And second, I am a felon. No one that will be my ultimate epitaph. Yes, I once committed evil, tarnishing my name, I now strive for good, diligently polishing every letter in Gregory Barnes Watson. I will never stop, even after it shines, dare I say, "To make it smell sweet."
Thanks for checking in on me.
Cordially,
