RE: Dental Visit (Post)

I was called down to see the dentist Tuesday morning. When I got down there I saw a different dentist, not the Asian female.

So I asked where she was. One of the escorting guards said she was gone, and then said she retired.

That's too bad. She was really the best dentist this place has ever had. She did the extra work to save a tooth that most dentists would just pull...

She's been working here as long as I could remember, and I just saw her about a month ago and she didn't sound like she was ready to retire. You could tell she liked her job. I wonder if she was forced out because she was too good at her job, and did quality work for us.

As a prisoner we have no control over the type of work we receive. We can only hope they are telling us the truth, especially when they say it has to come out.

When I was in San Quentin State Prison a long time ago, that dentist did not fix teeth, if you complained of pain, that tooth was pulled. He had two large glass jars on a shelf, one was full of teeth, the other was less than half full. One of my teeth is in there. He was collecting teeth. Souvenirs, I guess, so when he retires he could take it with him.

I'm really sorry the Asian lady is no longer working here. We lost the best dentist the prison system ever had.
