RE: Murals Being Painted in SHU

The other day I was being escorted to the nurse for a blood test, as I was walking over there I heard the escorts talking about the murals being painted in D-4. This part of the SHU is known as the short corridor. So I asked why they are painting murals if we are supposed to be getting out of here, and they say, "Man, you ain't going nowhere."

That's what I kind of figured all along anyway. They are probably doing those murals so when outside folk come in here, it doesn't look so dull. The murals are probably more for them than us in here. Besides, it's a little too late for that. It damn sure isn't going to change how we feel and spend our days 24/7.

In fact, now, I will be seeing an ocean and sand every day. The same view every day, every night. Can it make things better, do you think. I doubt it.

Maybe, though, if every month they come and add something to the mural like a boat on the ocean one month then a couple of beautiful girls in bikinis doing yoga during the next month. Maybe if they keep adding to it so it's constantly changing.

I guess can now take photos standing in front of the mural. Everyone I talked to said they would not like it in their photo. Me, personally, I don't care. The mural does nothing for me and will not change how I live. But I do believe they should spend money where it's needed around here and not on a bunch of dumb murals.
