Hi R =)
Glad to see you finally made it, or, I finally received your note. You said two different things "Nate let me capture you." - you, or Jesus? Then, "Wanna be captured by Jesus?" Go ahead & clarify...
Assuming you just mean Jesus, your offer is head to respond to, because Jesus (or your belief in Jesus) is the most valuable thing you possess, right? It would be like me turning down Donald Trump's best wig or the Little Drummer Boy's best bet. It'd be ironic, but to reject your offer of Jesus might cause your curiousness and amicability towards me to quickly flip to suspicion and anger.
And, as I've said - I'm in need of decent people, which you seem to be.
What Jesus do you mean? The Mexican guy down the hall who's always strung out on psych. meds? (I'll pass!) The God/son of God who "Hates Fags" (to use a well-known example) or is revered by congregations that allow homosexuality? The blond-haired, blue-eyed Jesus of Identity Christians, or the swarthier Jesus of Latino peoples? The "Goodly Frere" of Ezra Pound's ballad, or the effeminate one of so many paintings?
Ever since Jesus of Nazareth's death, countless people have portrayed him in the ways that suit their purposes, whether they realize it or not. The four gospels that the early Catholic church (formed to unify a splintering Roman empire - "By this you will conquer," recall?) said fir to include in their Bible, (while burning others as heretical) are but one example.
How can I believe in a Jesus when there are so many of them?
Hmm... Let the real Jesus please stand p and speak for himself. And you, R, go ahead and speak for yourself. I'm sure you've much to say! =)
