NPR reporter Corrie Johnson, Guest, reported on Attorney General (AG) Eric Holder enunciated the Justice Department (DOJ) New Clemency Policy.

The DOJ Policy is intended to allow non-violent drug. Offenders a venue in which to pursue a sentence commutation initiative.

Thousands of non-violent federal prisoners are eligible for pardons Attorneys review and recommendation.

Ms Johnson theorized that it'd take years before actually clemency would happen. She also believes President Barack Obama shall take more measures to reduce federal prison overcrowding.

AG Holder's "Bucket List" includes sentencing reform; criminal Justice Reform and voting rights reform.
