"A Filthy Prisoner"

Everything's quiet
Perfect for a prayerful request
Like a knock on a door
It asks to be answered
What could I ask a busy king?
Would he see me as a beggar?
A filthy prisoner in blues
Or would he call out for the finest
Of all he has in my honor?
Would there be continuous parties just for me
Or would he say, "Down on your knees, beggar"?
Well, either way, at least I'd be in heaven
Where I know it would be peaceful
And I'd be needed.
