Dear Hari,

Long time no hear, how are you? I hope good. Sorry I haven't responded in so long. I was told that you sent a response but I never got it so I had to write to B.T.B. and ask them to resend it and I just got it today. For future reference, if you ever get bored and want to send me an email, you have to go to: www.connectnetwork.com to register and open an account. It's prison so of course it is not free. Costs $.25 per email and in euros I have no idea how little that would be. I have no idea how to reach you, other than this, so, I hope you are still going to the B.T.B. site. My brother removed his Facebook page and tries to stay off the Internet but does check his email. You can always send him an email at: justinpezzeca@yahoo.com

Pretty sure that's still his email address. They just let us out. We were on lock down while they searched our cells. Anyway, wow, both of your parents are doctors, is that what you're studying to be? I've never known a doctor. I haven't actually seen a doctor, other than the prison one, since I was about 12. If you are going to be a doctor, what will you specialize in? I get a magazine that a friend bought me called life extension. It's about the body, all natural meds and general health studies. I find it fascinating. I am shocked at what people are forced to pay for prescription drugs when some of them cost just pennies and are marked up to an insane price. My mom has acute Myeloid Leukemia, right now it is not getting any better but not getting any worse either. She gets weekly blood tests done but has stopped Chemo. Her Obamacare just approved her for a hospital bed so she is sleeping a lot better at home now. I haven't been able to see her yet but I spoke to her today. She was yelling at her cats for chewing on her oxygen tank tubes. I'm very close to my mom and the thought of losing her, this nightmare just won't end. But each day I pray for a miracle healing and for her to be cancer free. At the last prison I got to enjoy the birds and for a few weeks I had a baby bunny. It was getting cold out so the guy who tended to the flowers found him (or her) in the bushes, I bought it from him for a pack of Newport cigarettes. I kept the little bunny for a month until the guards saw him in my cell and made me get rid of him. For that month, I sure hated cleaning up bunny poop every morning off the floor but I had fund feeding him salad, he chased a shoelace like he was a cat, I didn't name him, I just called him bunny. Then I took him outside and released him. Hope one of those hawks didn't get him.

As for my daughter, I have no idea. I just got her new address, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio with her mom. So I wrote her and will wait to hear from her. I posted a few dog photos. There is my favorite one on Facebook. It's of me with a little white puppy named Rafter. I took those puppy dog photos all last year while at a prison called Smithfield. Now I am at a prison called Dallas. This one is 30 minutes from my mom.

I used to save all of the comments I received from this blog but when I transferred, you can only take 4 boxes of stuff with you. The rest has to be sent home or destroyed so I mailed a lot of it home. I sent all of my comments there so I don't remember what I have already told you so I might repeat myself. I am trying to watch less TV. I never really knew much about the Jews and Hitler, then I got to see 2 movies: Schindler's List and The Boy In The Striped Pajamas. 2 heart-breaking movies. I can only imagine, if my Justine would have seen them she would have cried her eyes out the entire time.

So remind me, how did you find my site? And what made you decide to read what I write? Just curious. I don't know how many people read what I write, but so many people make promises and never follow through. I was in a lot of trouble my whole life but 1 thing my mom always drilled into me was, never break your word, if you promise or say you are going to do something do it. If you're man enough to say it, you're man enough to do it. I try my best not to lie. I met a woman a long time ago from Nottingham, England. Really sweet person. But I lied to her about why I was in prison, not knowing how easy it was for her to check, and I lost her. So I try to be as honest as I can be. YOu have an Indian name, correct? So what is your religion? Just curious. I'm a baptized catholic but I wasn't always like this. I was anti religion for so many years. But one day I wanted to be better, do better, I met a lot of community volunteers who had been coming to prisons for 30+ years and I got to know these men and their wives and it helped me to make me want to do better in life.

This new prison is worse than the last one but I'm a lot closer to my mom so as soon as she is able to come, my brother Justin will bring her up. He told me he deleted his Facebook page and doesn't go on it any more. Was spending too much time on his computer and less time living his life so now he is back in the gym, has more time to play with baby Lucy and since he is single again, he has to do all of the house stuff too.

Well, Hari, I'm gonna let you go. Take care, it was good hearing from you. Drop me a line when you have some spare time. Hope you and your family are all doing good. Wish my daughter would have went to college, for free, when she had that opportunity. God bless. Ciao.

Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post. I pray you have gotten to see your mom and brother by the time you get this. I think it's great you were inspired by the volunteers and have been able to make changes in your life. I will join you in praying for your mom. Take care.
