Hi Heidi,

Thank you for the birthday wishes and responding to my writing. Your compassion for my struggle shows through your words!

We have a sacred word in my Lakota Sioux language that perfectly describes your spirit of compassion: "Mitakuye Oyasin", which means "we are all related." This one word reaches across lines of race, gender, and many other names society uses to keep us separate.

I hope we can become friends, and I hope you can in small ways support the Native American struggle for true freedom and equality. Please write to me at the address shown below.
