Hi Alyssa, how are you? I hope good. This will be past when you read this but Happy Valentine's Day anyway. I hope you had a special day with your man. As for the person who sent the ignorant response right before you, I don't pay them no mind. Just another person who has no life nor understanding of life so they spend their days on the computer trying to put people down. Well I know nothing about psychology but I am happy to help you and I hope you come up With some great research that really helps you. Some people don't believe you can change in prison. Not everyone remains the violent person they once were. We do change. Not all for the better but a lot are. You have no choice after 20, 30, 40+ years in here. You hit the nail on the head so to speak when you said men & women use masturbation as a coping mechanism to deal with lack of contact. Plus, we are not designed to be alone. Its just not natural for humans. Again, you are right, men tend not to appreciate the women in their life, sometimes we take them for granted but when you come to prison, you ask them for so much and you truly do grow to appreciate them so much more. I know that I try to show my mom how much I love and appreciate her. I call her as often as she answers the phone and I send her a card every week. She's my mom, she is dying and I am sick over this. I think men are more outspoken than women, I have written to a few women in prison before, some were serving life sentences and they were just as dirty as I was when it came to "fantasy" letters. But most just wanted to connect with someone. And this is not meant as an insult or put down but they seem to need to be with a man. Most didn't seem to very independent. And I think that's part of the reason why they were in prison. And I believe all of that begins in how you were raised. When is the end of your semester? That's when your paper is due. Did you look at my Facebook page? Go ahead and look at my photo's. You can see me with the puppy dogs. For a person in here, you don't even have to connect with a human, if they gave any prisoner who wanted one, a pet to care for, there would be a lot happier prisoners and less abandoned animals. You can see on my FB page how much I appreciated the puppy dogs in prison. Well I am a blunt man but BTB discourages that and I wouldn't want to say something offending to anyone, especially a young woman. To finish your questions, No, my state does not offer conjugal visits. I do think it would help. Lets say I had a woman who came here for a day long conjugal visit. The state could charge for the room, it could make money doing that plus You can use it as incentive for good behavior. So many people in prison have nothing to look forward to in life that they don't care about trouble. But if a man says, I got my girl, wife or a hot young girl coming to spend the day with me for a hot conjugal visit we're gonna make the house shake, there is no way he is going to be a problem in the prison, if anything he'll be a model prisoner. I would! No, in Pennsylvania they outlawed any type of pornography. This has led to more prison rapes and sexual assaults of inmates and staff. They do not discourage masturbation but if you were caught, they would lock you in the hole (solitary confinement) for at least 90 days. I do believe some men lose their sex drive in here and they become more violent people. The men who have a women, wife or female friend who they can openly express their sexual needs, these are the men who are better behaved in here. Yes, men who have a woman on the outside do act differently. The women come to visit them so they are usually, not always, but usually model prisoners because they crave that female attention and contact of regular visits. I haven't even kissed a woman since August 1998. The men who have no woman or have no female contact, they are the ones who either turn gay, turn into sexual predators or become pretty violent and follow no rules. Without rules there is chaos and they tend to lead the chaos. You said if there is anything you can do for me to let you know, sign up to e-mail me and then I'll let you know. I do need help, I ran for and was elected as Vice president of our lifers organization in here and I really could use help from someone outside. I am fighting for parole for lifers. And as a college girl, who wants to be a psychologist I assume, you have to be smart. And I learned long ago, never turn down a friend or someone who is willing to help because we can't all do it alone. So what I would like is for you to sign up to e-mail me and send me an e-mail. Then I can tell you how I could use your assistance. If you ever decide that you want to stop, all you have to do is sign off and stop. It's not mandatory that you keep going if you want to stop. But what I am asking is no ones business but mine and the person I ask for help. And to tell you up front, it's just computer work. As for relationships, I think that men who are in one with a free woman, these men behave better in here, they do better in order to get out and they grow to become better human beings. To sign up for e-mails follow these instructions by a person who has done this:

go to www.connectnetwork.com

click on "create account" in the upper right corner of the screen. fill out the registration form and double back to make sure the tiny "i agree to the terms and conditions" box is checked, before you hit submit.
On the choose facility page: select Pennsylvania, then Pennsylvania DOC (all facilities) from the "drop down menu". once you hit submit, they will send an email:to you and you have to click on the link they send in order to confirm your account.

next You can either click "get started" or "add contact", they both go to the same Place.
click on "Booking ID. and enter inmates number (DX1148).
once I am added to your list of contacts, click "buy credits and follow the steps to purchase a messaging (e-mail) package. e-mails cost 25c per e-mail.
once You have purchased credits, click on "compose" to write an e-mail.
when You get an e-mail, you will be notified when you receive it. This it.
